Our Royal pairs demolished the boys 6-0, 6-0 and drop only 7 points throughout the 42 mins match. Are the pairs really from this planet??

Aki Masa was defeated by SP, Ramesh 3-6, 4-6 in the 3rd singles. Rayner & Grismond also lost in today's match against Xiao Ming & Fu Hua, 4-6,4-6. WTFC Week 15 Review

The contest for the last 4 places for the Master League trigger a dog fight in the league this week.

Shinji kira is simply unstoppable since the start of the 2nd round, proving that he is really the great dictator in WTFC. He stopped the winning streak of Sako Maki with a 7-6, 7-5 win to remain as the league leader for South Zone.

Jon Pearson suffered another defeat this week, losing 4-6, 6-2, 5-7 to Nicholas Keane. The defeat might mean Jon could be missing out at this year Master League with 2 matches remaining.

Team TFC 5, Team Maplewood 0

Maplewood -- Although Team TFC rested their Top 3 players for today matches, The team still managed to stretch their unbeaten run to 3 matches. The Emperor & Prince was watching the rest of the team with the Peter Robson, the team coordinator at the resting area, giving their valuable advise as and when we are dropping off points. Thanks to them as we are able to ride over Team Maple with yet another all wins.

Replacing Sebastian today as the 1st singles is Kira, with another dictatorship display to defeat the Maple's Suresh 6-2, 6-0 in the 1st Singles Match. Kira doesn't look back after leading the first set 4-2.

I, Natalie was given a chance to represent the team for my very first singles match today ya. (Delighted) My opponent, Ling was a tought opponent ya, firing plenty of powerful flat serves at me and giving me a hard time returning her heavy ground strokes. I was thinking at some point she was Serena William. I lost my 1st set 2-6. *Cried* During the set break, Peter gave me some pointers. Sebast & Emoki run me through with Ling's weaknesses and there was this japanese gal, Miya, who tagged alsong with Emoki today to watch our play gave me mavellous counter tips ya. Eventually, I turned unstoppable, winning the 3rd singles match 2-6, 6-3, 6-1.

If Kira is the Dictator in the league, then Kenji would be the Magistrate. Both players have the ability to dictate the games to their favours. To me, Kenji looks more like a casino goer who will put up the poker face during the game. But the Vice-Captain of Team Tennis de Faber Crest is very friendly in nature and he do has his sense of humour ya.

He is emotionless whenever he is in the game. Kenji is also very calm during matches and often proves himself as a worthy opponent. To win against him will takes more than just skill and effort. He is patient and adaptive to all the various style of play. Competent and experience with his High School Team back in Japan, Kenji has been rank within the top 5 players for 3 consecutive years.

His main assault will be his top spin which will bounce off the ground and reach an off shoulder height that is difficult to return, especially if he hit the ball deep. He plays with heavy ground stroke and has superb single backhand. Great first and second serves left his opponents no chance to ever think of getting a nice return.

This Aussie Chinese is the reigning 2 times consecutive Overall Champions of WTFC league is certainly somebody who deserved to be nickname as the Emperor in the league. Was unbeaten in league matches for the past 2 years. His only official defeat within the 2 years dominance came from Emoki, whom beaten him at last year Master's Finals.

Sebastian, together with Emoki, are well-known for their completeness in tennis. The lefty possess precision accuracy shots which definitely makes you run like monkey. Don't even try your luck playing his backhand and praying that it could be his weakness or else you might end up thinking that you are actually playing with Federer on the other end.

Sebastian was a once a student with Melbourne International Tennis School and was also the High School champions during the summer and winter games. A talented player who gave up going professional to take over the family business. However, he is committed to be part of the league and Team TFC, which is definitely a hooray! Can't wait to see this Idol of mine to take on more elites in the near future which could only make him playing even better.

Rayner, only in his debut season for WTFC League, Rayner has already been tagged as one of the emerging stars of the league. Offensive play, great footwork and plenty of inter-schools tournaments previously have prepared Rayner to become a competitive player for the league.

Being one of the youngest players in the league, Rayner has plenty of chances to develop into a even better player in the coming years. Rayner powerful ground strokes on has often caused great fear to his opponents. He hit shots which are able to find great depth and angle to compliment his pacey ground strokes. Sometimes, that is enough to make him quite invincible.

A very tough opponent and experienced tennis player wh om is also selected to be in Team Tennis de Faber Crest, I would expect Rayner to do very well in both league, zone and exhibition events for the rest of 2008.

Exhibition Match- Kenji Tahoma (TFC) Against Richard Teng (CSC)

Kenji Tahoma will be one of the favorites to be in the starting line up for Team TFC coming Thursday after defeating Richard Teng 6-3, 6-4 in the warm up match earlier.

The 26-year-old was playing his 3rd match of the week, having won all 3 matches. Kenji Tahoma is now one of the hot favorites to compete in the Master League in September.

"It's special to win the your first match as a team and also with the support of the teammates and I am extremely happy for that," Tahoma said. "The match was really tough. Although the result itself doesn't show that. I dropped my first game and get myself into several break points situation. I knew the longer the match lasted the more disadvantages I would have because I could see he was getting more and more into the game. When I won the first set, what I knew was to get one break as soon as possible for the 2nd set to order to win this match."

Kenji Tahoma, nick name 'The Samurai" is the Vice Captain of Team TFC. There is a possibility that we will see him playing in the doubles alongside with Aki Masa for the Exhibition Match on Thursday.

Exhibition Match- Emoki Nakajima (TFC) Against James Ransome (Hse)

The Prince, Emoki has a wonderful performance this evening, defeating Hollandse James Ransome 6-2, 6-2 earlier at the Exhibition match in Hollandse Club to notch the first match win for Team TFC since its formed earlier this week. The 23-year-old Emoki broke Ransome's serve four times to stretch his unbeaten run to 8th matches in less than an hour.

"It feels amazing to win like this after an anticipated tough battle," said Emoki. "I was playing really well and leading 5-0 40-0 and then maybe I stopped being so aggressive and he came back strong for the deuce & break point. James played an amazing game and there was not much I could do without luck on my side. I just tried to stay aggressive by going forward and managed to take my chances. James has been a great opponent today and I hope to play against him again soon."

Emoki, who was only beaten once this season by Tony Permal, should be representing Team TFC in the Team Exhibition match in one of the singles matches against SRC this Thursday.

Monday, August 4, 2008

Exhibition Match: Ron (TFC) Against Andy (SRC)

Captain Ronny was gunned down 6-3, 6-3 on Grass by SRC representative, Andy Lim. Andy showed powerful and accurate winners which sent Ronny guessing the wrong direction most of the time. Ronny wasn't having a bad game either, hitting 14 Aces past the Vice Captian of the SRC Team.

This is just an opening warm up match between the 2 teams' captains for the showdown exhibition match on Thursday evening. The match format will be 3 Singles Matches & 2 Double Matches. I believe that it would be exciting. haha.

Great thing is that Team TFC has been formed! And a warm welcome for the following players below! Omg! I still cannot believe with playing alongside with the league leaders of WTFC! Sebast, Ronny, Emoki, Kenji and all the others!! *fainted. haha.

First of all, congrats to Emoki, aka the Prince of WTFC for bringing the No 1 Seed to his first defeat of the season. Although it is a tough fought match between them, Emoki won the match in straight sets 7-6, 7-5 eventually.

Baby Face assassin, Grismon moved up 2 places in the South-Zone league after defeating Nicholas Keane in straight sets, 6-4, 7-5 while Shinji Kira and No. 3 Seed Ronny Tan, both cruised on with a 6-3, 6-0 victory over their opponents.

Forming a team from WTFC league players?

This question has to be raised as I received the 7th invitations from another Club Team which wil be interested playing with the WTFC team, if any.

A WTFC team? If we can form one, what else can be more interesting than that ya?
The problem is who are the players which might be interested to commit yet another previous time slot for friendly matches ya?

The league will be running till Sept. Followed immediately will be the Master League. Then, it will be the monsoon. But, I believe that Players such as Ron is definitely keen to form up the team. I still think that we could try. As forming a team isn't a bad idea after all!

She see no difficulty holding her own against many of the guys playing in WTFC and certainly not any push over. If you play against Michelle, beware of her powerful ground strokes and never think it is gonna be an easy ride!

Michelle's winning asset is still her great accuracy and power serves that Aces across her opponents. She's packed with speed and stamina too, and she uses this with good effect to set up winners from her groundstrokes.

Match of The Week - Emoki Nakajima Against Tony Permal (Preview)

Oh my goodness! Emoki Vs Tony Permal.
This certainly going to be the Match of the Week or probably the Match of the Season ya. I'll definitely free up myself this weekend to be there to watch this match. *excited* ^_^

I hope Emoki will win. haha. But Tony is just too strong, he has beaten Emoki in the 1st Round and still unbeaten since he joined the league. This expatriate from France has been bullying us since match 1, someone please stop him! lol.

If there is to be someone who can stop him to win the title this year, I believe Emoki will be one of them. Sebastian - Another killer, Ronny aka Pete Sampras of WTFC or Kenji Tahoma - 3 lungs man. Just too bad the later 3 are in the different zones so they won't be meeting each other until the Master League.

So Emoki, please do the killing ya! <333 haha.

Now, back with a vengence this year, he already shows great potential and no sign of a once injury plague player with his solid ground strokes and power play off the forehand and backhand sides.

He also has a formidable big serves and will throw it up now and then. As a lefty, his favourite player is Nadal and emulates around that Spaniard style of play. Being a great fan of Kira & Emoki, you would see them sparring with each other even after a tough fought match.

A promising young player to watch and could poised the threat as the title contender in days to come.

I personally likes to watch Kira play as he has a wonderful array of shots. He reads game so well that before you notice it, he has already made you his next puppet.

Being tall, he make used of every opportunities to come up to the net and win points. His main weapon would be his serve that is often placed with great accuracy and offensive play.He plays a very traditional game with a single handed backhand, great serve and nice ground strokes.

A worthy opponent on the tennis courts, he can easily vary his game to suite different styles of play and can easily adapt to changing situations. Begin with a slow start into the season and the dictatorship is getting back right on time for the 2nd half of the season.

Aki is a Newcomer in the league and also a Full-Time Communications Student with SIM. Aki picked up his tennis from Emoki only a couple of months back and is already hitting some surprises in his debut season.

Aki’s greatest strength is his never say die attitude and the willing to take risk. He has great potential to evolve into one of the best players in the league and was nickname Emoki Jr. Being group together with the 'Emperor' - Sebastian and the 'Samurai' - Kenji Tahoma, Aki is really playing to his best to stay within the top half of the table.

However, I am sure that we will see more of Aki flamboyant style of play in order to compete in the so call toughest table among the 4 zones.
